• Why dream the devil in a dream book. The dream book of Miller and Freud describes what demons and devils dream about. What does it mean to see a smiling devil in reality

    20.04.2022

The devil is the most popular character in Russian folklore. In numerous tales and stories, he acts in the usual role for himself and those around him as a sworn enemy of a person who is trying by all means available to evil spirits to defeat human intelligence.

The battle of aliens from the other world

On the other hand, the devil is the most beloved fairy-tale hero! Despite the seeming paradoxicality of such a statement, the fact that if there were no devils in the world at all, they would certainly have come up with a replacement does not require proof. To affirm the triumph of the human mind over evil spirits without the obligatory "scapegoat" at all times was considered a farce unworthy of the public. And the devil was the most suitable for the role of a "goat": horned, bearded, tailed. In general, a freak, on which you can write off all the misfortunes.

In those cases when the devil materializes, a creature appears before a person, more like a nightmare: black, with claws, a tail and horns, a wide muzzle, a long nose, or, conversely, with a pig's snout and brightly glowing eyes in the dark.

“Last summer, my two friends and I vacationed on the coast of the Sea of Azov,” says Muscovite Vladimir Novikov. - Due to a number of reasons, we did not manage to have a civilized vacation, so we had to live for three weeks of vacation, becoming like "wild" tourists - in nature.

One evening we settled down for the night on a sandy beach near Mariupol. My friends quickly fell asleep, but I tossed and turned for a long time on my uncomfortable bed. In the end, just after rubbing my sides, I lay on my back and tried to sleep, counting the stars in the sky. But soon my attention was drawn to two bright dots that were moving at great speed down the sky. Continuing to watch them, I realized that these are not cosmic bodies. The dots in front of my eyes were growing in size and were about to fall in the immediate vicinity of me!

I did not hear the noise from the fall of unknown bodies to the ground. However, about five minutes after their alleged landing, it seemed to me that behind the nearest stone ridge someone squealed thinly and loudly. There was no time for sleep at all!

And behind the stone ridge, I suddenly heard frequent snorting, heavy sniffing, and, finally, I saw THEM! They were devils, real devils!! With horns, tails and hooves!!! They were clearly visible to me because their fur glowed in the night, as if it had been rubbed with phosphorus. With every step the devils approached the place of our lodging for the night. I closed my eyes in horror, opened my mouth to scream and ... could not utter a sound. You know how it happens in a dream: you are being pursued, you want to call for help, but for some reason you can’t ...

Continuing to pretend to be sleeping, I lifted my eyelids and ... immediately slammed them shut. One of the devils was staring at me. The spectacle was so impressive and at the same time repulsive that even with my eyes closed I kept in my memory its incredible image for a long time. The monster was about two meters tall, of an ugly physique - as if a huge black horned goat reared up - and with a piercing crazy look of large and round bright yellow eyes. When, after a while, I opened my eyes again, I saw that both features were already examining me and my sleeping friends.

I do not know how long this exchange of views continued. I only remember that while we were looking at each other, I asked myself an idiotic question: why don't they stink - as in most fairy tales - sulfur?

I didn’t have time to answer it: one of the devils bent down, picked up a weighty, thirty kilograms, cobblestone from the ground and, holding it like a fluff in his hand or paw, took a step towards me. I realized that now the end would come to me, but, I repeat, I could not escape: all my limbs were paralyzed. I closed my eyes, saying goodbye to life, and ... in the next moment I heard the sound of a struggle!

When I opened my eyes again, I saw that the devils were fighting! The fight was terrible: one of the devils beat the other with the very stone that was intended for me. The air was quickly filled with their inhuman screams and a real pig squeal. I suddenly felt that I could already control my body and tried to push my comrades aside. But neither my cuffs nor the heart-rending cries of the fighting monsters could wake them up. What it was connected with, I still can not understand. How can I not understand another thing: why did one of the night monsters decide to stand up for me?

The fight between the devils ended as suddenly as it began. They quickly jumped up from the ground, shook themselves, like dogs, with their whole bodies and ... I missed the moment of their disappearance, closing my eyes from the first rays of the rising sun.

In the morning I told my friends about my nightly adventure and showed them a broken horn with gore and a large tuft of wool - all that I found at the site of the nightly fight of the devils. In response, my friends laughed at me.

Offended, I did not tell them about the most important thing. That the tuft of devilish wool continued to glow in the dark! Returning home from vacation, I gave a few pieces of hair to an expert from the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He, having passed them through a dozen spectrometers and other "smart" devices (I know little about them), spoke unequivocally: the hairs belong to a hominoid unknown to science, the hairline of which is partially similar to the hairline of the so-called "Bigfoot". As for the glow of the wool, here he did not say anything concrete, specifying only that he did not find phosphorus in the wool.

Now my mysterious finds are being studied in one closed research institute.

The secret of the Shatursky pond

The devils are not alien to the family way of life, but since there are no females among them, they marry, as soon as they are thirty years old, to witches, strangled women or drowned women.

Adult devils treat newly born imps rather unceremoniously. On dark nights, they sneak up to the house where there is an unbaptized or cursed by the mother baby and make a substitution. Changelings (imps), as a rule, are "skinny in body and extremely ugly." They are constantly screaming and eating a lot. Their head is unreasonably large and hangs to the side. Two years later, they strangely disappear.

Many people know the expression: "There are devils in the still waters." And they really are there! These are imps that adult devils carry into the pools from their houses. Here the descendants of evil spirits live up to seven years.

... This pond was dug out on the outskirts of the Shatura Forest with the help of a caterpillar excavator by summer residents, who were allocated six hundred square meters by the Moscow Region authorities here, in an absolutely uninhabited place. A pit was dug in the place where the dowsers found the underground springs. There were 13 of them near the new pond: seven were located on one side and six on the other.

Ten years have passed since then, and the history of the pond has acquired numerous secrets and mysteries. One of them is a green fog that envelops the pond on quiet moonlit nights, and at this time terrible screams and sobs are heard from under the water.

The locals do not swim in this pond now: they are afraid. Not a year goes by without someone drowning in it, and, what is especially strange: in the region of seven springs. Moreover, only boys and men drown, and children and women survive in an incredible way.

A year ago, in mid-July, a girl was swimming in the pond with a big inflatable ball. She splashed close enough to the shore, when suddenly a funnel appeared in the middle of the reservoir, and the child began to be pulled up to seven springs.

The forces of the elements and the child were unequal, the whirlpool pulled her to the ruinous place, pulled out the ball and ... again threw it to the shore, where the poor girl was picked up by the adults who ran up. The ball spun in a whirlpool, froze, then two shaggy hands rose from the water and dragged it to the bottom.

Rescuers do not believe in the story about the creature living at the bottom of the reservoir, but, nevertheless, they are not eager to go down there once again.

Naturally, the anomalies and devilry going on in the cursed pond attract the attention of all kinds of adventurers to it. So, immediately after the incident with the girl, a certain Eugene showed up in the dacha village, introducing himself as a metropolitan researcher of paranormal phenomena. For several nights in a row, he guarded an unknown creature in the thickets near the pond, until, finally, one morning, summer residents found him lying unconscious on the shore.

Coming to his senses a few hours later, Eugene told the audience an absolutely incredible story. Just after midnight, the surface of the pond, according to him, began to seethe violently, and then a creature on four legs climbed onto the shore. It was the size of a large dog. The creature shook itself off the water, stood up on its hind limbs and headed just in the direction where Eugene was sitting in the thicket. At this time, the moon came out from behind the clouds, and in its ghostly light, Eugene saw that a real devil was moving right at him! With a tail, horns and eyes glowing in the dark.

Delirium tremens - alcoholic delirium, or, as it is affectionately called by the people, "squirrel" - is an acute mental disorder associated with excessive alcohol consumption.

Delirium tremens is a consequence of "professional passion for alcohol, but it always occurs only when sober, 3-4 days after leaving a long binge. It is the most common type of alcohol-related psychiatric disorder, accounting for up to 80 percent of cases.

The cause of delirium tremens is toxic damage to the brain. Such problems most often occur in men who systematically abuse alcohol for 7-10 years. Why do they occur during the exit from the binge? Because there is an abstinence, a kind of alcoholic "withdrawal". Sometimes psychosis can be triggered by a traumatic brain injury or a severe infection suffered by an alcoholic. The mechanism is the same - oxygen starvation of the brain plus poisoning with a whole cocktail of toxins.

Against the background of acute withdrawal during this period, the patient develops headaches, vomiting, speech and coordination disorders, trembling of the limbs, and fever. Soon, an inexplicable feeling of depression and anxiety is added to these symptoms, turning at times into panic fear. The onset of insomnia adds to the suffering of the patient. Soon he begins to hear frightening sounds and strange speech, visual hallucinations are added to this: the patient sees scenes from horror films familiar to him, insects, small animals, which, it seems to him, crawl over his body, penetrate his mouth and ears.

    Devils overcome

However, the most frequent characters in the painful visions of people suffering from delirium tremens are devils. Even in Kievan Rus there was an expression "drink to hell." In the chronicles of the Danilov Monastery of the 15th century, a curious fact is mentioned: after immoderate use of strong drinks, several monks began to “chase the horned ones around the refectory. By order of the abbot, violators of the monastery order were immediately tied up and placed in a cold basement for re-education.

Some researchers believe that Ivan IV suffered a series of attacks of delirium tremens, during which the autocrat, as court chroniclers assure, "fought off invisible devils, as if from hellish fire."
For centuries, devils have been familiar to Western lovers of strong drinks. One of the English legends tells about the jester of King Arthur, who entertained the noble knights. that after a many-day feast he had a habit of running around the rooms of the castle and crushing furry and tailed creatures with goat horns that got under his feet ...

"Devil drunkards" appear not only among peoples traditionally related to Christian culture. In particular, it is known that before the Europeans arrived in America, the Indian tribes did not know alcohol, but used light drugs that relieved stress, contributed to the expansion of consciousness and were used during religious rituals. The use of psychotropic substances of plant origin did not give frightening visions, only caused colorful superficial dreams on the verge of reality. However, after getting acquainted with traditional European alcoholic drinks, the concept of “invisible hairy spirit” firmly entered into the everyday life of various American tribes, which overcame the Indians, weakened by immoderate libations.

In the thirties of the last century, Soviet doctors who massively arrived in the regions of the Far North were surprised by the stories of the Chuchki, Evenks, Khanty and Mansi, who had suffered bouts of alcoholic psychosis, about horned animals that pestered them during the illness. By that time, these northern peoples were already familiar with the original Russian drink - vodka, for which, before the revolution, furs were exchanged with merchants for decades. According to the descriptions of the patients, frightening entities were very similar to traditional devils, although there are no such characters in the pagan pantheon of northern peoples.

    Extra-material causes

Back in the 50s of the last century, an American psychic, a chemist by education, Richard Flaim suggested that the frightening visions of alcoholics during attacks of delirium tremens are not so much pathogenic as extra-material in nature. This conclusion was prompted by the works of medieval Western theologians, as well as Indian Vedic treatises, according to which certain human vices (which at all times included drunkenness) are formed and supported by a certain evil spirit or demon. R. Flaim established: despite the fact that every alcoholic drink (whiskey, cognac, wine, beer, etc.) has its own chemical formula and has a strictly defined effect on the body, including the human mind, everyone has a strong drinking people's visions are the same.

Devils came to each of them at least once. He stated this during an interview given in 1958 to a Chicago radio station. Then R. Flaim reported that he managed to notice some dark (in the truest sense of the word) entities next to people obsessed with attacks of delirium tremens, while the rest who were present at the same time did not observe anything frightening.

Already in the mid-nineties of the XX century, the Chelyabinsk psychiatrist Nikolai Pravdin, who discovered para-psychological abilities in himself after a serious car accident, made a report at one of the conferences of psychiatrists held in Yekaterinburg, in which he argued that alcohol not only destroys the human body . Ethyl alcohol, contained in strong drinks, carries a strong negative energy, which thins the etheric field of a person, breaks his structural lattice.

In addition, alcohol changes the frequency of electrical impulses and, accordingly, oscillations in nerve cells, which makes it possible for the human eye, under certain conditions, to see what it cannot normally perceive. In particular, creatures from parallel worlds who, like vampires, surround a drunkard who is deprived of a protective energy field and devour the emanations of his mental and astral bodies...

    Story

“My former classmate Olya’s mother was ill with schizophrenia. Periodically, she was taken to a psychiatric clinic, treated and allowed to go home. Then Olya’s mother was paralyzed, and for the last two years before her death she lay at home, bedridden. Olya and Olina’s older sister looked after her Lida, who also lived in this apartment with her alcoholic husband, who occasionally drank himself to the point of delirium tremens.

One day, Lida's husband once again caught a "squirrel" and suddenly hid in a corner, and began to say that people were climbing out from under the floor, about 40 people, and at the same time one of them with a pig snout, and the second with a fiery red muzzle. The alcoholic said all this in a whisper, huddled in panic fear in a narrow gap between the refrigerator and the wall in the kitchen.

At this very time, the paralyzed mother of Olya and Lida began to call her daughters. When the girls entered her room, she asked what strangers were doing in their apartment, a lot, 30-40 people. And near her bed, her mother showed (“Yes, there they are!”), Two are standing: one with a pig's penny and the second with a red muzzle.
Olga's apartment is large, three-room. Mother was lying in the back room behind a closed door and could not hear what her alcoholic son-in-law was whispering in the kitchen.

The story of the brilliant Vladimir Nabokov "In memory of L.I. Shigaev" (thirties, Paris).

His description of devils is the most vivid in world literature. With pleasure I will quote an excerpt from this story, which deals, among other things, with the visions of an alcoholic. Right away, however, I will clarify: the fact that these are visions of an alcoholic does not make them lie outside the framework of paranormal phenomena. For some reason, hallucinations of sick people are not considered an abnormal phenomenon by anyone. I'm going to prove the opposite.

“By prolonged, stubborn, lonely drunkenness, I brought myself to the most vulgar visions, namely, to the most Russian hallucinations: I began to see devils. twilight flooded in. Yes: more clearly than I can now see my eternally trembling hand, I saw the notorious aliens and in the end I even got used to their presence, fortunately they did not really climb on me. peaceful, lethargic, black-skinned, pimply. They crawled more than they walked, but with all their affected clumsiness they were elusive. I remember I bought a dog whip, and as soon as there were enough of them on my table, I tried to stretch them well - but they miraculously avoided a blow: I again with a whip ... One of them, the nearest one, only blinked, screwed up his eyes crookedly, like a tense dog, whom they want to tear away from some seductive dirty trick with a threat; paws spread out...

But they all slowly gathered together again, while I wiped spilled ink from the table and lifted the prostrate portrait. Generally speaking, they were most dense in the vicinity of my table; they appeared from somewhere below and, slowly, rustling and smacking their sticky bellies, climbed - with some kind of caricature-sailor tricks - on the legs of the table, which I tried to smear with vaseline, but this did not help at all, and only when I , it happened that I fell in love with a sort of appetizing bastard, intently climbing up, and I grabbed it with a whip or a boot, he plopped down on the floor with a thick toadish sound, and in a minute, lo and behold, he was already getting from the other corner, sticking out his purple tongue from zeal, - and now, passed and joined his comrades. There were many of them, and at first they all seemed to me the same: black, with puffy, however, rather good-natured muzzles, they, in groups of five, six, sat on the table, on papers, on a volume of Pushkin - and looked at me indifferently; another scratched his foot behind his ear, scraping hard with a long claw, and then froze, forgetting about his foot; another dozed, awkwardly climbing onto a neighbor, who, however, did not remain in debt: the mutual inattention of reptiles, able to freeze in intricate positions. Little by little I began to distinguish them and, it seems, even gave them names according to their resemblance to my acquaintances or different animals. There were bigger and smaller ones (although they were all quite portable), uglier and more dignified, with blisters, with tumors and completely smooth ... Some spat at each other ... eyes like chum eggs; he was very sleepy, sour, and gradually crawled away."

I do not presume to judge to what extent Nabokov's description of devils is based on hallucinations experienced by him or some of his acquaintances, but something clearly experienced is at the heart of this description. In any case, about the same thing has been seen and is being seen by millions of alcoholics with delirium tremens. Nabokov is mistaken in one thing: he calls these "glitches" traditionally Russian, although alcoholics see devils not only in Russia, and not only in Belarus, Ukraine and other Slavic countries, but everywhere in Europe, America, Africa, Asia.

Western European engravings of the Middle Ages depict devils pestering drunkards. These are the same devils as in the drawings of modern patients with delirium tremens in clinics in Russia, and in clinics in the USA, and in clinics in China. In the overwhelming majority of cases, the sick with delirium tremens are devils. It's a law, it's a fact. And this fact has not yet been explained by science in any way. The devil is a folklore creature. And it got into folklore (and into ideas about hell) precisely from the hallucinations of alcoholics.

One, with a complaisant character, are sluggish, small devils - as in Nabokov's description. Others, cruel and aggressive people, are devils two meters tall, eager to suffocate, kill - from these hallucinations such alcoholics turn gray in a couple of days.

In all hallucinations, the trait is the same (as a functioning organism) and is a mixture of a man and a goat. Strange, but doctors in clinics are not surprised by the similarity of devils in these hallucinations. In the USSR, they gave this explanation: they say that everyone read Pushkin and saw illustrations for his fairy tale about Balda, hence the image of the devil appears in every alcoholic. In fact, not every alcoholic has read Pushkin's fairy tales (in which, I note, nothing is said about alcoholism), and such an assumption is completely absurd in relation to alcoholics of the 19th century, the majority of whom have never seen a single book in their lives.

There was also an opinion among scientists that the appearance of devils as the main characters in the hallucinations of alcoholics is explained by the specific destructive effect of alcoholism on the brain. Drug addicts do not see the devils, they get "glitches" on a larger scale. And in this case, as some scientists believed, the devils became a special reaction of the brain to excess alcohol. This opinion seems superficial, too general. It is not alcohol itself that causes intoxication, but its compounds, which are different for different alcoholic beverages. Alcohol intoxication has a completely different character when drinking cognac, vodka, wine, beer, moonshine and other things. All these drinks have a different chemical formula, hence the different effects. But devils are everything: both those who drink cognac and those who drink moonshine. But something else is more disturbing. The medical profession has overlooked or neglected the main difference between the hallucinations of drug addicts (LSD) and the devils of delirium tremens. The first hallucinations are essentially a dream of consciousness, they are disconnected from reality; this dream, like any dream, is individual, each has its own and is always new. They fall asleep and sleep. But in patients with delirium tremens there is no separation from reality, they are fully conscious.

But always and constantly, devils wedged into reality for everyone. Nabokov, judging by his story, wrote his things, brushing devils off the table. But everything else was absolutely normal, really. In fact, delirium tremens is only one thing: the appearance of devils in everyday life, which no one except an alcoholic sees. It's a mystery, an unsolved mystery. Science is silent here, because it cannot say anything yet, it only collects facts, although this is terribly interesting for specialists, they told me about this. But in the press, in society, this riddle is of no interest to anyone. Alcoholics are too vile to study their hallucinations without prejudice. Therefore, for society and for that part of it that is interested in paranormal phenomena, this mystery does not seem to exist. That is, there is some kind of taboo.

One on one alcoholics with devils leaves the fact that they are alone in their visions. No one but them sees these devils. This, in fact, is not surprising, because everyone has his own devils, with his own character, which, as it is easy to see, is a mirror image of the character of the patient. Therefore, ghosts are willingly discussed in the press, but the devils of patients with fever are considered only in narrow medical periodicals, and even then only from the point of view of the fight against delirium tremens. Nobody thinks about the devils of alcoholics, although everyone has said more than once about himself "drunk to hell." Ignoring what has been said. I think this phrase will take on a different meaning in the mouth of the speaker when he himself sees the devils. I didn't see the devil myself. Perhaps he never got drunk like that. But I was not the only one who drew attention to the strange constancy of visions in all patients with delirium tremens.

At various times, attempts were made to photograph or in some other way fix images of hallucinations. Not sleep among drug addicts, but hallucinations of patients with delirium tremens. In fact, researchers in different countries have tried to photograph devils. Everything turned out to be unsuccessful. But I do not presume to say that this cannot be done with the help of technologies that have appeared in recent years. Unfortunately, such studies due to society's dislike for alcoholics are extremely rare, episodic. This article may encourage someone to try again to catch the devils, although I have little faith in this, but I want to hope.

I will add that if I had the opportunity, I would certainly develop a new program for such research. It would not be limited to simply analyzing aspects of the problem. However, first I would try to make sure that such an opportunity to remove devils theoretically exists. But if I came to the conclusion that it is theoretically impossible to do this, then, naturally, in this case I would give up such attempts.

    We saw...

In the early 1970s, psychiatrist Gennady Krokhalev tried to prove that a hallucination could be captured on film. In a diving mask, he replaced the glass with a camera, put this device on the subject, pointing the lens directly into the pupil. These experiments he conducted just with patients with delirium tremens. And in half of them, the film allegedly clearly recorded certain images. But these experiments were not taken seriously by science. Photographs, the results of the experiments were rejected. Krokhalev proceeded from the premise that the hallucinations created in the brain should supposedly inevitably be reflected in their signals in the pathways from the eye to the brain and back. Therefore, they say, you can photograph a hallucination in the pupil of the eye. Science completely rejects this possibility. If this were the case, then it would be possible to put a video camera lens to the eye of each of us in a dream and film a dream. Then, waking up, we could watch it again with friends - on the home TV screen. All of this is completely unscientific. The pupil is not a TV.

The approach itself is wrong, perhaps for another reason. Yes, the visions of alcoholics are individual. But as I will show below, "hallucinations" are often massive. Their mechanism is not clear, but it is clear that their generator lies OUTSIDE the brain of a particular person. And it was there that Krokhalev mistakenly searched for devils. I want to clarify right away: the meaning of the word "hallucination" I see here is different than its generally accepted meaning. While conditional. Very conditional. The ufological term "fast-flowing unidentified phenomenon" would be more suitable for him, even if ufologists are angry. This, I will say carefully, is a kind of short materialization of thoughts to some extent. Thought form, how streamlined and vague it sounds from domestic researchers of the paranormal. Several very characteristic cases of the manifestation of such thought forms are given by the journalist and writer I.B. Tsareva in the book "These mysterious animals" ("Olympus Astrel", Moscow, 2000). The author of the book, however, deliberately does not comment on these cases, leaving it to analysts. But the value of the book is that it contains hundreds of testimonies of ordinary people who are faced with the inexplicable: these are mainly letters from readers.

VII. ABOUT "MIRACLES" OF GOD, "PROPHETIC" DREAMS AND SUPERSTITIES

Question. There are many cases when people saw ghosts, including dead people, as well as devils, angels, etc. Doesn't this prove that they really exist?

Answer. ... The girl was lying, afraid to move. In the darkness, the outlines of nearby objects appeared - a table and a cabinet. Everything else was hidden in darkness, blurred by vague, frightening visions. A huge fear fell heavily on the child, pressed him to the bed, clouded his consciousness. The corner behind the stove was especially frightening. The rustle of cockroaches behind the wallpaper echoed loudly in my ears.

"Lord, protect me! I am a sinner." The little man whispered the words of a prayer, and his eyes peered intently into the darkness. The girl again and again silently repeated what her aunt had said to her in the afternoon: "Have you sinned? Here the devil will appear to you."

And he showed up! Exactly the way the frightened girl imagined: with burning eyes and small horns, like a neighbor's goat. He appeared in the very corner where she was looking, hesitated for a moment, and suddenly extended his black paw towards her.

The girl screamed and lost consciousness...

Yes, indeed, such cases do happen. At all times, among all peoples, they caused superstitious fear and consolidated faith in the other world. Meanwhile, for a long time they have not been a mystery to science, their causes are well known to psychiatrists. And of course, there is nothing miraculous, supernatural in these phenomena.

Remember how sometimes the human senses fail. Late in the evening, getting off the suburban train, you are in a hurry to get to the dacha, to look for friends. Along the way, you need to pass a small forest. The path is deserted. You involuntarily speed up your steps, And suddenly there is a person in front of you. Who is he waiting for?

Thoughts of unkind people rush through my head. Move forward or turn back? You take a few more steps, and the outline of the "man" that was so clearly visible disappears. In front of you is just a tree broken by a thunderstorm. What happened?

An unfamiliar place and late time have set your thoughts in a certain way, and the human imagination almost unconsciously turns the vague contours of oncoming objects into figures of people and animals. And if you are also a superstitious person, then an ordinary stump can become a goblin crouching on the ground for you, and an owl flying low will be transformed into God knows what evil spirit.

Everyone has met with such an optical illusion. These are illusions, in other words, a distorted perception of reality. Illusions arise as a result of self-hypnosis.

We "tune" our thoughts in a certain direction, we begin, for example, to think about thieves, that they got into the house - and then any object, even remotely resembling a person, can be mistaken for a robber. Our imagination attaches to an obscurely visible object the features of who or what we think about, what we are afraid to see.

Illusions are the most harmless representatives of the "ghost world". The situation is more complicated in those cases, one of which we told at the very beginning. It was a hallucination. How is it different from an illusion?

If illusions can and do occur in any person, then with hallucinations, most often we are faced with a painful psyche. In rare cases, they are also observed in healthy people, but with severe overwork of the nervous system. Often hallucinations appear in alcoholics and drug addicts - people who poison themselves with drugs.

Hallucinations are called daydreams. Studying hallucinations, scientists have found that they occur in those cases when in the cerebral cortex the processes of excitation of cells sharply prevail over the processes of inhibition. So, for example, a tendency to hallucinations can develop under the influence of strong nervous experiences - feelings of fear, longing, obsessive thoughts, etc.

It is not uncommon for deeply religious people to hallucinate. Endless, exhausting prayers, fasts, incessant self-flagellation - thoughts about "sinfulness", about "hellish torments" and about "salvation" - all this leads to the fact that a person becomes nervous, and with the disease come "visions" - hallucinations. “My mood was depressed,” recalls one of these unfortunates, M. Nikolaenkova, “in order to atone for imaginary sins, I starved myself for two or three days, brought my body to a state of dystrophy. My health worsened every day. Religious fanaticism led I started to have hallucinations."

Only medical intervention and long-term treatment in the hospital saved her from a severe mental illness.

As with dreams, with hallucinations, mind control is incomplete or absent altogether. Therefore, the images and pictures that are born in the diseased brain are often intertwined with each other in the most ridiculous, fabulous way. And if a person believes in the other world, he can [see the devil, and angels, and brownie. In the mind, aroused by all sorts of mystical stories, traces of past irritations come to life quite easily. They are formed into the images of all kinds of ghosts. Brought to a religious frenzy, weakened morally and physically, a person can see right in front of him the face of the Virgin or the saint revered by him the way he saw him on the icons. This image appears so clearly before a person that he refuses to believe that this ghost exists only in his foggy consciousness. He is convinced that he came "face to face" with the other world. Meanwhile, the only thing that follows from this is the need to go to the doctor and begin serious treatment.

The occurrence of hallucinations is often prepared by the same suggestion and self-suggestion. It was in this way that the painfully impressionable girl had a hallucination of the devil. This case is described in the famous book "Notes of a Psychiatrist". Its author, LA Bogdanovich, tells the story of a woman who suffered from a serious nervous illness. In childhood, the religious atmosphere had a depressing effect on her; in family. Exhausting prayers, church services, intimidation by hell - all this led her in the end to a nervous illness. She listened with fear to the stories of the pious aunt about Satan. Gradually, a vivid image of the devil formed in her mind. She pictured him as clearly as if she saw him in front of her. Every night noise began to frighten her. One day, the aunt, recognizing by her frightened face that the girl "sinned", ominously threatened: "Here the devil will appear to you." At night, this thought relentlessly began to haunt the girl. And the "devil" appeared. Exactly the way she created it in her imagination.

The above example convincingly indicates that, as in dreams, the images of hallucinations are usually created by the stock of those impressions that the human consciousness stores. He believes in the devil, is afraid of him, thinks about him - and if a person falls ill, he can "appear unclean" - in the form in which he imagines him. In the same way, before a sick person, images of his relatives and friends, who have already died, may appear. These images can be as vivid, "alive" as those that we sometimes see in a dream (although, upon waking up, we are not surprised that we saw dead people). According to the stories of mentally ill people who believe in God, they not only saw the Mother of God, saints, angels, but also heard their voices. The Qur'an tells that Muhammad spoke with the archangel Jabrail. Joan of Arc heard the voice of God, ordering her to go save her homeland from the British. All these cases, if they were not fiction and actually took place, were nothing more than auditory hallucinations of nervous people.

Many of you have encountered the simplest form of this kind of hallucination. Remember: you are expecting a guest, but he is not and is not. All those who are waiting for him begin to get nervous, listen to see if the bell will ring, if there will be a knock on the door. And then one of those waiting nervously shudders and says: "Ring!" "Yes, yes, I heard it too!" - confirms the other.

You rush to the door, but there is no one behind it. Was there a call? No, he wasn't. It was an auditory hallucination. “So it seemed,” we calmly remark in such cases.

Hallucinations of touch are also known: a person can clearly feel someone's touch when it was not there. And here we are faced with a deception of the senses.

There are even more amazing hallucinations. Once scientists conducted such an experiment. At one of the classes at the institute, a few drops of a dark liquid were poured on cotton wool in front of the students, warning that the liquid had a very sharp, unpleasant “smell, and asked to say when they felt it. After a short time, several hands went up in the front rows. The smell spread further and further in the audience, and some of the students sitting in front even felt bad.

What was the surprise of the students when, after the end of the experiment, they were told: “There was no smell!

In history, there are also reliable, detailed cases of mass visual hallucinations. "Collective, or mass, hallucinations," writes the famous Russian psychiatrist V. M. Bekhterev, __

I represent one of the most interesting phenomena. In almost every family chronicle, one can hear stories about the vision of dead relatives by a whole group of people.

Finally, exactly the same nature of visions at sectarian prayers. Hallucinations that appear first in one maddened person are then transmitted to others.

The most convincing refutation of the supernatural nature of hallucinations is the fact that they can be caused artificially.

Studying the conditions and causes of the appearance of ghosts, one English medical researcher caused hallucinations by secluding herself in a separate room and trying to eliminate all external impressions. She stared at the surface of some dull shiny object, such as a crystal or a mirror. This tired her brain, and images of hallucinations surfaced against the background of twilight consciousness.

Other researchers put themselves into a half-asleep state with the help of various drugs. They also had hallucinations. It is well known what vivid visions are caused by the use of such drugs as hashish, opium, mescaline. Since the Middle Ages, the so-called "witch's ointment" has been known, consisting of poisonous, intoxicating substances. Rubbing such an ointment into the skin, a person falls into a state of hallucination. The Mexican Indians have long known as a strong drug the juice of one of the cacti - peyote. This juice causes exceptionally vivid and bizarre hallucinations, both visual and auditory.

The cause of artificially induced hallucinations is the same as the usual ones. After all, hallucinations, as you already know, are generated by a disorder in the work of some parts of the brain. Therefore, by influencing the brain with means that artificially cause disruption of its work, we can lead a person to hallucinations (of course, such experiments are dangerous, they can only be performed under the supervision of a specialist doctor!).

It is interesting that often generated by fear and auto-suggestion "impure force" can be "driven away" by the opposite self-suggestion. To do this, you need to convince yourself that you see only a ghost created by your own imagination. A believer resorts to such suggestion when, having seen something "devilish", he overshadows himself with a cross and whispers prayers. At the same time, he believes that the ghost will not stand before the cross. Sometimes such self-hypnosis works - the hallucination stops.

A funny situation arises; first, a superstitious person causes a hallucination in himself by self-hypnosis, and then drives it away from himself with the same suggestion! In both cases, his consciousness is guided by a blind faith in a far-fetched other world.

The evil spirit that appears in a dream very often becomes an occasion for jokes and banter over the dreamer. But in vain: the presence of a devil or a demon in a dream is far from a trifling symbol.

The dream you saw in which there was a devil can seriously change your life. Do you want to know exactly how? We will talk about this in our dream book.

    Devils in a dream

Devils or demons, occult communities call them beings of a lower order, which can mislead a person or arrange all sorts of stupid, and maybe even dangerous alterations. Get ready for unexpected troubles, absurdities and curiosities. If you saw devils in a dream, then nothing terrible awaits you in the near future. Unpleasant little things may disturb your peace of mind, but not for long. By the way, if in a dream you saw a lot of devils, then expect a whirlpool of fun and unexpected events. Someone will deceive you, but this deception will not be harmful to you. Most likely, surprises await you.

Why do the devils dream in the house?

But to see devils in the house is a nuisance, as absolutely all dream books say. Demons calmly walking around your home - to quarrels, scandals and misunderstandings in the family. If the devils laugh or make faces, then expect someone close to you to deceive.

Also a dream in which devils in the house- to financial troubles and minor illnesses.

Do not worry: everything will be decided, albeit not as quickly as we would like.

    See them in church

Seeing impure people in a dream is like seeing something clean, beautiful, stained and ugly. After such a dream in real life, you will have to be very disappointed in people or things that seemed unshakable. Perhaps a close friend who was an ideal hostess will suddenly turn out to be much worse than they say about her. By the way, after such a dream, expect a trick or betrayal from friends and loved ones. If in a dream buried the dead, in which you saw devils, demons, then in reality you have to witness the most unpleasant situation. Someone will be deceived, meanly used, and you will be inactive. Even if you don’t usually behave like this, expect just such an outcome of the situation.

    In the bath

Devils love warmth, even heat. They are more familiar with this than anything, and the dream in which you saw the demon in says that you can only come to terms with the circumstances, but you can’t fix it all. If in a dream, then this dream is interpreted as that the dreamer has become “his own” for the devils. Probably, soon he will either become the favorite of fate, or he will lose everything at once. But he cannot change anything, now he does not control the situation. Heck beat in a dream? Wait for blows from fate that will make you stronger. with the unclean in the bath - consider that you have drunk your luck. But if, at the sight of you, the devils in the bath fled, then nothing serious will happen. Life will go on as before, the only thing that can happen is a ridiculous joke of a friend or girlfriend. Don't worry, you will remember this prank with a smile for a long time to come.

They attack, what is it for?

Attacking devils are troubles, quarrels that seem to appear out of nowhere and seriously ruin your life.

If the devils attacked the whole pack, they bit, even fought among themselves, then most likely, soon in your life there will be only turmoil, a round dance of affairs and people.

Do not worry: the dream does not portend anything bad.

They want to dedicate to demons

A dream in which an evil spirit wants to recognize you as an equal is interpreted as your desire to change something, to seem better than you are. Perhaps you want to achieve someone's praise, or your pride goes beyond all limits. Anyway, if the devils in a dream pull you along and recognize you as an equal, then you urgently need to change. To become equal to a demon is to drown in alcohol, lies and debauchery.

    In the form of people

An unusual dream, and its interpretation is not standard. You have to face a situation from which there will be no way out for a long time, and close and dear people will show themselves from the most unexpected and, possibly, unpleasant side for you. Remember: what did these devils do? If they broke something or sang, or maybe they drank alcohol, then you have to contact deceitful and cunning people who are mired in trouble. Probably, everything will work out if during this period you reduce communication with others to the maximum possible minimum. If the devils gambled with you, then soon fate will play a game with you, the rules of which are known only to her. Exactly after such dreams both rise and fall are possible, both amazing luck and total bad luck in all endeavors.

    As a cat

A very insightful dream: they have always considered, if not people from hell, then at least guides to another world. Cute and domestic murks always remain predators, remember this. Seeing devil cats in a dream is interpreted as a reluctance to notice a danger that is very close to a person and at any moment can turn his life upside down. If such a cat fawned over you, tried to climb into your arms or “sang songs”, then in reality you have to deal with all the problems and tame any danger. If such a cat attacked then expect trouble, health problems and quarrels with friends.

    Evil in a dream

Soon fate will put you in front of a choice, you will have a chance to fix everything and even improve your situation, but at the same time you can ruin everything completely. Think carefully about your every step, deed, word. Whatever these changes are for you, they will radically change your life.

    Devils and demons

But the appearance of demons led by devils may indicate serious problems that are about to manifest themselves. Demons in the form of people say that you have problems with self-esteem. If such a demon harassed you in a dream, in reality, expect a bad situation that will compromise you, or you will be deceived by people who, it would seem, have long been close and dear to you. In case you are in a dream devils quarreled with demons, then in reality expect that any situation, no matter how difficult it may be, will be resolved, and in your favor.

If the demon marked you as an equal to himself or gave you something, expect hypocrisy and health problems.

Soon your plans will not come true.

    Miller's dream book

Mr. Miller believed that the appearance of otherworldly forces in dreams often entails failure, loss, and embarrassing situations in which the dreamer's reputation may suffer. It is best to take up self-education at such a time and not overload yourself with work.

    Freud's dream book

One of the most mysterious psychotherapists, Dr. Sigmund Freud, believed that the appearance of devils in dreams indicates certain addictions of the dreamer in bed. To see a beautiful demon in a dream is to become a victim of secret desires in reality. They try to deceive you, trying to put pressure on your weak points. If in a dream a person himself was the devil, then, most likely, he was lately too selfish towards others.

These are the interpretations for a dream in which you saw devils. Remember: whatever you dream, our dream book will always help to interpret this dream and explain what to expect from the future. Good dreams!

Why do alcoholics see devils during delirium tremens? Physicians have a fever called " alcoholic delirium“, it manifests itself against the background of alcohol withdrawal after prolonged use. It usually occurs at stage II-III of alcoholism, when the body's resources are already seriously depleted, and alcohol consumption takes on the character of binges.

It is curious that if before the development of delirium tremens it was necessary to constantly abuse alcohol for 10-15 years, now typical mental disorders can occur within five years. Apparently, this indicates both the insufficient quality of alcoholic products and the general weakening of the health of the population.

Delirium tremens causes visual hallucinations, often accompanied by panic fear. Most often, those suffering from delirium tremens see devils. Have you ever thought about the expression "get drunk to hell"? But it appeared in Ancient Russia and still has not lost its relevance. They wrote that even Ivan IV, during bouts of delirium tremens, "fought off invisible devils, as if from hellish fire."

Devils are seen by alcoholics all over the world!

Interestingly, the vision of devils is typical for alcoholics of almost the whole world. The strangest thing is that "drunk devils" began to be seen by peoples who had never drunk alcohol before. For example, before the advent of Europeans, the American Indians simply did not know alcohol, and when they did, they also began to suffer from the “invisible furry friend.” The peoples of the Far North (Chukchi, Evenks, Khanty and Mansi) began to see terrible horned animals when merchants began to drink vodka to buy furs from them for a penny.

It is mysterious that neither the Indians nor the northern peoples have such characters as devils in folklore ... It turns out that they could not extract such an image from the "bins" of their brains, so why do they see them ?!

Maybe some dimension invisible to ordinary people opens up to alcoholics?

No matter how ridiculous it may seem, it has already been physically proven that there are at least 7 dimensions. Why did all the people who experienced squirrel syndrome see devils? Not there two-headed monsters, etc., namely devils with horns? Everyone has the same diagnosis. Alcoholics talk to them, and the devils speak quite reasonably, offering to do something bad: burn the house, hang themselves, play cards for something. Believe me, all this is not just.
